Swimming in the Sunless Sea
At twilight two places stand there empty
Watchmen taken by Wights so stealthy
For foul Nicors haunt the Sicvarp shore.
**
The Thane calls for hunters grim
For into darkness all must swim
With amulets made by priestly lore.
**
The Thane moves in a mysterious way
He plants his footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
**
Serpents large and serpents small
Swarm beneath in their dark hall
They take down men and feast on all.
**
Where Osgar goes, there go we
Geats swimming in the sunless sea
With spear and saex we stab our foe.
**
Lay the proud usurpers low !
Tyrants fall wi’ every blow !
Revenge in caverns far below.
**
Geats prevail with courage stark
Though tooth and claw leave many a mark
Four Nicor’s heads we took that day – Littleman for Aye !
