Those Met Along the Way

Arcenbryht – A blind skop and rune-mage

Brihtwold – An East Geatish Thegn whose hall is at the north-western reach of the Malanmere

Cenwahl – Sailing Master of the “Fat Belly”, a Weather Geatish trading ship.

Eanmund – a dreng of with a large steading to the south of the Malanmere.  Owner of Guldenkine, a large, fierce and virile bull.

Emma – Arcenbryht’s grand-daughter and helper

Ercongota – Reeve to Brihtwold.  Once a famous walcyrige, now in her twilight years. Now wed to Osric.

Fraomar the Far-travelled – An itinerant thyl and scop.  Said to be an agent of Eadgils, king of the Sweons.

Groar the Shopman – An itinerant trader originally from somewhere in the southlands

Nothgyth – Once a walcyrige of some renown, known primarily for her ill-favoured looks.  She is now restored to her natural beauty by the Goddess Gefion, whom she serves as priestess.

Osric – Hearth guard to Brihtwold. Portly and somewhat past his prime but can still wield an axe. Now wed to Ercongota.

Svipdag – A warrior of Sweon origins who once served the witch of Gefndene, now sworn to Thegn Osgar-Lytelman.  Notable for his fighting style based on using two francas together.

Sweyn – A warrior of Sweon origins who once served the witch of Gefndene, now companion to Lytelman.  A mountain of a man blessed with prodigious size and strength.

Talorc – A heavily tattooed outlander bought as a slave by Lytelman and freed.  A brave, skilled but indisciplined warrior with little Geatish.  Nothgyth’s faithful companion.

Wiglaf- A young Aetheling, kin to Beowulf himself and once his gesith. Victor of the Battle of the Spile and currently leading Geatish forces against the Sweons
